Lung cancer is a disease which occurs due to uncontrolled cell growth in tissues of the lung. And gradually this can spread beyond the lung in a process called metastasis in which the cancer spread from one organ to another non-adjacent organ or part. The main cause of lung cancers is smoking, with about 90% of lung cancers arising due to use of tobacco. This terrible lung cancer was uncommon before the advent of cigarette smoking and was not even recognized as a distinct disease until 1761. It was categorized in two types as non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and small cell lung cancer (SCLC). Although it is a dangerous disease still due to developed medicine and technology used by doctors there is also a hope of surviving from this disease.
