What is Yeast Infection?

If you are experiencing strange discharges, with lots of redness, itching and irritation in the skin then quite possibly you are looking at the symptoms of a yeast infection. Yeast infection, or Candida,  is a condition that looks like something serious has gone wrong but actually it is more of a nuisance created from an overreaction in your body.

There’s a lot of things happening inside our body that we don’t realise until something goes wrong. That is why our parents and doctors have always focused on making sure we make an effort with hygiene and a good careful diet. The moment we become careless with our food intake is when we start having problems that lead us to health issues and one common one is a yeast infection.

Fortunately, a yeast infection does not demand any serious measures for recovery, except for some good determination. The best remedy is a natural and holistic approach that you can do at home and will also help you get a good grip on your diet.

The Back Story Of Yeast Infection

Here is what happens before you even know you have a yeast infection.

When you have a lot of oily and fatty (especially sugar-laden) food intake it leads to the creation of a lot of fatty cells in your body. Fat and cholesterol go hand in hand to slow down our body’s system – which includes our immunity system. A bacterium called Candida is a part of our immunity system that takes a major role in the digestion of sugar and these fatty foods.

A yeast infection has everything to do with this microbe because this is where the real symptoms show up. When our sugar levels rise, the Candida begins to expand and bloom until it has consumed all the sugar in our blood stream. This is a normal course of digestion and we are usually unaware of our sugar levels until they become critical. Eventually, when we take too much of this type of food, we begin to have a consistent rise in our sugar levels and the fat starts to slow down our insulin function and therefore call in Candida bacteria for an emergency.

Consequently, in an attempt to save our life, Candida multiplies and then releases these symptoms on our skin which gets quite irritating.

To sum it up:

1. We consume food that has a lot of sugar content

2. Our consumption remains progressively high for a period of time

3. Our sugar levels increase in our bloodstream

4. Candida begins to fight the sugar levels and bring them down

5. Sugar levels still consistently remain high because of a. There is too much cholesterol b. There is too much fat c. The insulin somehow is finding it harder to reach the sugar in time

6. Candida blooms and then eventually lowers the sugar levels to a safe margin

7. The excess Candida brings out those symptoms on your skin

What Should We Do

One of the most common natural ways to cure yeast infection is through a change in the way we eat. The Candida diet is a very strict plan that has a focus on eliminating foods that feed the candida. Depending on the severity of the infection it can take anywhere from a couple of days to several months to clear up. It is always best to consult your doctor or health professional before making drastic changes to your diet.
